Do you think you know everything there is to know about Anna Vissi?

Anna is born in Larnaca, a city on the southern coast of Cyprus. She is one of the three daughters of Nestoras and Sophia Vissi (Lia and Niki are her sisters).
She started singing at a very early age, beginning her musical studies at the Conservatory at the age of 6.

She moves to Athens with her family on the 2nd of September, in order to sign a contract with MINOS. At the same time she attends a local high school in Kipseli.

Anna is now a student at the Politics Department of the Law School at the University of Athens.

Anna gets married to Nikos Karvelas! The wedding proposal is representative of the groom’s character: unexpected! Anna and Nikos, driving two different cars the one next to the other down Panepistimou Avenue in Athens, and Nikos proposing during a red light! What everybody remembers from the wedding ceremony is the groom’s green tie. The big secret of the ceremony? Anna’s pregnancy!

Anna’s separation from Nikos! The news spread like fire and rumors spread everywhere about both of them and the future of their collaboration. The couple, however, proves that they do not care about such matters and continue to live together, even separated. They actually take their divorce long after the year 2000!

Anna has been singing professionally for 20 years!

22/1/2005 Another innovative project is introduced to Greece by Anna Vissi. Pizza Pomodoro is inaugurated at the area of Kolonaki. It is a collaboration between Anna, Ciro Orsini (its creator in London and other big cities) and Chrisanthos Panas (Greek businessman). Many celebrities and journalists attend the event, but what we will remember forever are the words of Nikos Karvelas to the media, after the event...

Some years ago no one would imagine what even would be hold in this year's April. A wedding for Nikos Karvelas. It was the time for the formalization of the relationship of Nikos with Annita Pania, which gave Nikos the chance to become a father for the second time. The wedding was hold at the Politia Tennis Club and Nikos and Annita became officially partners in life with the help of the main in honor, Roula Koromila and the best man Costas Drosopoulos, and of course their son, Andreas. Anna attended the wedding with her daughter, Sophia, and had fun, dancing and of course singing, becoming the center of attention, yet again, this time at her ex-husband's wedding.

On the 17th May, in honour of the International Day Against Homophobia, Anna spoke via video at the Accept-LGBT Cyprus press conference for this issue along with representatives of LGBT, TV, European Parliament and also elected Politicians. The press conference took place along with various awareness events in the country entitled “Speak up against homophobia”.

On the 11th May and following a long battle, Anna’s father, Nestoras, passed away. Throughout his illness he had all the love, care and support of his family who were by his side every step of the way. His funeral took place on the 15th May in Larnaca, Cyprus.

As rumours were gathering pace surrounding the new revamped Demons musical, so was the increasing speculation regarding Sofia Karvela's pregnancy. As you would expect, all eyes were on Anna who would be a grandmother for the very first time! Following a long period of avoiding making any comments on the topic, Anna chose to confirm Sofia's pregnancy and to show her excitement that her daughter would make her a grandmother.

Sofia gave birth on the 12th September 2013 to a baby boy called Nikos or rather....Ninikos as he is nicknamed!

“Yes, it is true! Sofia is expecting a child. I am really chuffed that everyone is pleased to hear of the news and I know that it will be something that will be widely talked about. But, let's not make it into a soap opera. Boundaries must be kept so as to not compromise each part of this journey, especially the personal one. I am beyond excited, I have no issues with being a grandmother, even if I joke with Sofia when I tell her “I am expecting my son” and she snaps back “he is your grandson, not your son”! We are expecting another Nikos in the family and I am so happy.”

As you can imagine Sofia's pregnancy overshadowed changes in Anna personal appearance. Yes, after many years, Anna decided to go back to brunette in preparation for her role as Rozana in Demons the musical!

2014 had all the best family joys in store for both Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvelas.

At the beginning of April, Sofia Karvela married Thanasis Panourgias in New York's Town hall as we later found from...Instagram! The rumours mill went into overdrive until Anna confirmed that the wedding had taken place and it was not a practical joke played by the couple after all.

Four months later, on the 4th August, the newly-weds christened little Niko with their nearest and dearest present, at the Aksion Esti monastery, in Varnava. Little Nikos officially takes his name from his grandfather Nikos Karvelas. Sofia's close friend, Viviana Karamani, who lives and works in New York, was the child's godmother.

During these two joyous events, Anna made it clear that the right to have a family and be happy is not only reserved for some people but for everyone!!!!
